VZV-PCR qualitative kit for the qualitative detection of VZV genome DNA in a test sample. Qualitative PCR kits are used to determine whether a sample contains the infectious agent.
Varicella-zoster virus (VZV), also known as human herpesvirus 3 (HHV-3, HHV3), is one of nine known herpes viruses that can infect humans. It causes chickenpox, which usually affects children and young adults, and shingles in adults, but rarely in children. VZV infections are species-specific to humans. The virus can survive in the external environment for several hours.

During the polymerase chain reaction, sequential amplification of the VZV genome DNA (target analyte) and the human-specific genetic sequence (internal control) occurs, which leads to the release of specific fluorophores (FAM) and (HEX), respectively. Their fluorescence is recorded using a photofluorometer of the automatic analyzer (amplifier).
The Ingeneko® VZV-PCR qualitative kit consists of the following components, designed to carry out 100 reactions:
Component | Volume | Quantity |
Buffer «VZV» | 1.0 ml | 2 pcs |
Positive standard | 1.0 ml | 1 pcs |
Negative standard | 2.0 ml | 1 pcs |
All components of the kit can be stored for 1 year from the date of manufacture without loss of efficiency. All components of the kit are stored at -25°C to -16°C after transportation. Repeated thawing and freezi
