Mycoplasma hominis-PCR quantitative - a kit for quantitative determination of the DNA of the Mycoplasma hominis genome in the test sample. Quantitative PCR kits should be used to track a patient's disease progression and evaluate the effectiveness of selected treatments.
Mycoplasma hominis is a species of microbes of the genus Mycoplasma. M. hominis has the ability to penetrate human cells. Mycoplasmas, along with ureaplasmas, are the smallest known free-living organisms. Mycoplasma hominis causes pelvic inflammatory disease and bacterial vaginosis. Also causes male infertility.

During the polymerase chain reaction, sequential amplification of Mycoplasma hominis genomic DNA (target analyte) and human-specific genetic sequence (internal control) occurs, resulting in the release of specific fluorophores (FAM) and (HEX), respectively. Their fluorescence is recorded using a photofluorimeter of an automatic analyzer (amplifier).
The Ingeneko® Mycoplasma hominis-PCR quantitative kit consists of the following components for 100 reactions:
Component | Volume | Quantity |
Buffer «Mycoplasma hominis» | 1.0 ml | 2 pcs |
Calibrator 1 | 2.0 ml | 1 pcs |
Calibrator 2 | 2.0 ml | 1 pcs |
Negative standard | 2.0 ml | 1 pcs |
All components of the kit can be stored for 1 year from the date of manufacture without loss of effectiveness. All kit components are stored at -25°C to -16°C after transport. Repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 times) of the master mix and positive control should be avoided as this may affect assay performance.
