HSV 1/2-PCR qualitative kit for qualitative detection of HSV 1/2 genome DNA in the test sample. Qualitative PCR kits are used to determine the presence of the infectious agent in the sample.
Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2 are a type of virus from the Herpesviridae family. They are the causative agents of herpes simplex in people with various clinical forms of the course. They are extremely common human pathogens that cause lifelong infections. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) causes mainly skin lesions, mucous membranes of the oropharynx, while herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) mainly affects the genitourinary organs. The infectivity of both types is extremely high.

During the polymerase chain reaction, sequential amplification of the HSV 1/2 genome DNA (target analyte) and the human-specific genetic sequence (internal control) occurs, which leads to the release of specific fluorophores (FAM) and (HEX), respectively. Their fluorescence is recorded using a photofluorometer of the automatic analyzer (amplifier).
All components of the kit can be stored for 1 year from the date of manufacture without loss of efficiency. All components of the kit are stored at -25°C to -16°C after transportation. Repeated thawing and freezing (> 2 times) of the master mix and positive control should be avoided, as this may affect the efficiency of the assay.
