eVolution® 3e ULTRA is a new mechanical ventilation device from the American company Event Medical, designed to enhance the safety of lung ventilation for patients of all age groups.

eVolution® 3e ULTRA can operate using its built-in turbine or centralized supply systems of compressed air or a compressor.

The ventilator can utilize oxygen from high or low-pressure sources, ensuring the accuracy and versatility of the eVolution system throughout its service cycle.

A wide range of modes allows physicians to select the optimal mode tailored to the patient's needs.

Advantages:

  • Updated user interface. The user interface of the eVolution 3e ULTRA ventilator is designed to be highly intuitive and user-friendly. Optimized graphical interface design reduces operational errors. Color coding and backlight settings highlight changes, simplifying navigation and parameter adjustments. This enables physicians to spend less time configuring the device and more time on direct patient care
  • Graphics and signals. When displayed on the screen, it supports: 3 customizable graphical windows, 10 parameters, up to 9 simultaneous graphs or 2 graphical panels + 3 graphs at once. Adjustable loop scale, waveform or trend from 6 seconds to 72 hours. Colorful graphics facilitate easy analysis of spontaneous and mechanical breathing. Freeze function available on all graphs, loops, and waves
  • Interface profiles (intubated, mask, cannula). To enhance the usability of the ventilator based on patient care interface, three separate profiles have been created: intubated, mask, and cannula. After selecting a specific profile, the ventilator automatically adjusts according to the chosen ventilation method. This special configuration displays only those ventilation modes, screen layouts, monitoring parameters, and settings relevant to the specific interface
  • Target Tool for all ventilation modes. In the Target Tool, clinicians can set target values for a predefined set of relevant variables depending on the current ventilation mode. An animated ball moves closer to or farther from the center of the target to track the progress of these variables. Setting visual goals helps closely monitor critical variables during treatment, ensuring they remain within a safe range
  • Driving Pressure monitoring and Target Driving Pressure Line setting. Monitoring Driving Pressure is crucial for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of patient ventilation. High Driving Pressure values are associated with increased risk of volutrauma and barotrauma. Therefore, Event Medical specialists have developed the Target Driving Pressure Line highlighting algorithm, allowing clinicians to avoid settings that may cause these complications
  • Autocontrol. Adaptive ventilation mode automatically transitions from full ventilatory support by the ventilator to complete patient-controlled ventilation. Provides a very smooth, automatic transition between forced and spontaneous support in pressure or volume mode. Automatic control helps wean patients off mechanical ventilation
  • Multimodality. Full set of ventilation modes – controlled, synchronized, or spontaneous. Complete range of ventilation types – pressure (P), volume (V), pressure support (PS), volume support (VS), spontaneous positive airway pressure (SPAP), or pressure-regulated volume control (PRVC), and others. Tidal volume ranging from 2 ml or 20 ml to 3 liters allows ventilation from neonates or children to adult patients
  • High-Flow Oxygen Therapy (HiFlowO2). HiFlowO2 function enables physicians to improve patient gas exchange. Using this therapy can help reduce intubation rates, potential risks associated with the procedure, and average time to clinical recovery
  • Slope Analysis Trigger. eVolution Ultra features the patented innovative Slope Analysis Trigger (SAT) algorithm. SAT offers a novel approach to initiating non-invasive lung ventilation based on flow signal pattern recognition. The primary goal of SAT is to prevent automatic and ineffective triggering, especially in the presence of unstable leaks, such as when the mask shifts

Capabilities:

  • Esophageal pressure monitoring: Allows assessment of transpulmonary pressure and lung/chest wall compliance. Provides better understanding of lung condition to optimize ventilation settings, avoiding overstretching or lung atelectasis
  • SpO2 monitoring: Non-invasive method for measuring blood oxygen saturation. Used to assess patient respiratory function and quickly detect hypoxia, enhancing monitoring capabilities during respiratory support.
Transcutaneous CO2 monitoring: Non-invasive method for measuring blood carbon dioxide levels through the skin. Provides continuous monitoring of CO2 concentration, crucial for assessing patient respiratory function in diverse clinical conditions
  • Volumetric capnography (VCO2) measurement: Provides continuous feedback on ventilation and perfusion, accurate arterial CO2 assessment, dead space measurement, and minute ventilation evaluation. Helps assess total dead space for ventilating patient respiratory volume to support weaning process
  • Lung Model tool: Alveolar lung model allows clinicians to visualize lung mechanics and optimally manage patient condition based on individual uniqueness
  • Weaning Target Tool and Weaning Maneuvers: Enables setting target values for predefined relevant variables predicting successful weaning from mechanical ventilation. Provides real-time progress monitoring. Weaning maneuvers such as P0.1, PiMax, VC, and Spontaneous Breathing Trial (SBT) offer valuable insights for assessing potential weaning success
