Mammography as the gold standard for diagnosing cancer and other breast diseases

25.02.23 on the basis of the KNP 3rd city clinic in Lviv with the support of the Medigran company, courses were held for radiologists: Mammography as the gold standard for diagnosing cancer and other diseases of the mammary glands

The course consisted of three blocks:

• regulatory framework for carrying out the procedure and organizing the work of the mammography room and personnel with the calculation of recommended temporary standards. Requirements for the list of equipment and the basis for providing the service
• anatomy, X-ray anatomy of the mammary glands, types of breast structure, methods of mammographic studies, assessment of changes by Bi-RADS categories, correlation of mammography and breast ultrasound results
• analysis of clinical cases

The practical part was conducted by the course curator Natalia Igorevna Rudik, a radiologist at the Lviv Oncology Regional Treatment and Diagnostic Center on a modern mammograph Melody IIID C from the Italian manufacturer Villa Sistemi Medicali

During the practical part, we monitored the work of the x-ray technician, analyzed the image quality and analyzed the results of the study at the workstation.
